Accelerated Reader

At Garden Grove we incorporate Renaissance Learning’s Accelerated Reader (A.R.) program as a supplement to our ELA curriculum. Students take an iReady Diagnostic and/or DIBELS assessment to indicate their individualized reading levels.  Based on their results, they receive a personalized reading range to guide them in selecting books that are just right—not too easy and not too challenging.

The Accelerated Reader program fosters a lifelong passion for reading by providing personalized practice tailored to each student’s needs, while also using data to monitor their growth. With an extensive selection of book titles, it’s an excellent tool for incorporating reading practice across various subject areas. We have seen tremendous growth in comprehension, reading, fluency and accuracy skills. Most importantly, students have been falling in LOVE with reading. 

Students can access the program through Schoology or Clever using their LAUSD Single Sign-On credentials.
